Dear Santa: You bring it… I’ll knit a stocking big enough!

Add this beauty to the things I’d like to see in my garage (and out of it)! Airstream has come out with an all-wheel drive RV designed to add comfort to long road trips and to off-road adventures. Take a look at the Airstream Interstate 24x!

What I love about the Interstate 24x:

First, there’s the off-road (and off-road) specs. The 24x is built on a 6-cylinder Mercedes Benz diesel chassis. For off-roading, that gives you the torque and range of a diesel, dual rear wheels, on-demand 4 wheel drive and an air-ride rear suspension to smooth out the bumps. You also get all the latest M-B safety features like lane and park assist, cruise control and other perks that make road trips enjoyable.

Then, there’s the off-grid capabilities. The Interstate 24x comes standard with two 100 Ah deep-cycle LiFePO4 batteries, a 2000 W inverter, and 300 W solar panel array.

Add the practical features. The wide rear door and split rear bench beds make it easy to take your gear (up to 16 feet for your kayak, mountainbikes or surfboards) in the center aisle. For your dirty gear, dirty dog or sandy feet there’s the exterior wash station. Bike got a flat? There’s the portable air compressor — standard equipment. Need to work or blog about your adventure on the road? Swivel the front cockpit seat and you have a workstation. There’s tons of storage and even a security safe!

And then there’s the comfort features. You can get as dirty, dusty and sweaty as you want, because the Interstate 24x has a full wet bathroom — also good for calls of nature on or off the road. The galley is also complete with a 2 burner propane cooktop, sink, and microwave. You can configure the rear beds as two twins or one big RV king, and rumor has it there’s an option to sleep more in a front bed setup. (Also, it looks like the ceiling racks might be able to handle an optional or aftermarket bunkbed system.
