Sometimes things break. Sometimes they just wear out. Most of want to repair something we love and value. But in today's throwaway culture finding the parts, tools and know-how can be a challenge.
A couple of years ago, the inner, flip-down freezer door broke on the Dometic fridge freezer in our 2007 Airstream travel trailer. We called the local RV repair professionals. They said it would cost a couple hundred dollars just to look at it, and they would get to us in a few MONTHS! They suggested we try doing it ourselves.
When we tried to source the parts we needed for our repair, we found that the OEM parts were either discontinued, out of stock, or insanely expensive. We bit the bullet, only to find that the replacement parts we got at highway-robbery prices seemed flimsier than the originals.
We didn't get mad. We got creative. We figured we could redesign and reengineer replacement parts that work better, and last longer than the originals. We rolled up our sleeves and got to work.
We started making our upgraded replacement parts right here in Oregon, USA, and selling them on eBay and Amazon for less than half what the OEM parts cost. We also started making how-to videos on YouTube to help DIYers like us fix the things they love and avoid gotchas. Better parts, better prices, better service. No surprise, it's been a success!
We haven't stopped there. We reinvest in things like new tools, sustainability and new skills to continually improve our design, manufacturing and innovation based on your feedback. Every few months we bring you new and better products. And we're getting more efficient, too, so we're able to offer you even better value.
At IFIXIFI we are working to help you find the parts and know-how you need to make sure that next repair job is "one and done".
Fix it ONCE, with IFIXIFI.
We enjoy the outdoors and traveling in our RV (a much-loved 19 foot Airstream travel trailer). But we’re not perfect. Sometimes things wear out or break.
